Let’s say you’re an innovative fish in a big pond, full of established sharks. Traditional media and marketing routes are extremely important as your paying customers tend to have grey hair and wear blue suits.

They like to read reports by press and analysts and then wave them at their bosses when buying stuff. Trouble is, it’s easier to get a backstage pass to a Rolling Stones gig than break into the press and analysts reportage club.

C&M helps by ruffling a few feathers. We help our clients to break down doors by generating content that demands to be read and loved.

To do this, we identify the issues that really matter – those that place you in the best competitive light, and provide all the necessary angles to make compelling stories for analysts, reporters, bloggers and other centres of influence.

Oftentimes this will take the shape of a (SEO-optimised, buzz-optimised) white paper, video, opinion piece or custom research – something that’s ripe for inclusion in mainstream media.

Once we’ve done this, we seed the content in the most effective ways – via blogging networks, article forums, direct pitches or good old online PR …whatever channel it takes to locate your targets like a heat seeking bomb; and we ensure it’s extremely easy for them to trace this banner content back to your web site (preferably via a well planned and optimised conversion point which results in a call to action – a call, a sign up, a request for a demo, etc).

This stuff works. Our favourite project resulted in a phone call direct to our client from her main target just two hours after seeding the initial content.

Stephen Morgan, Managing Director, Squiz: "We're the guys whose phone started ringing just a couple of hours after kicking our online PR plan off. The results were fantastic - search traffic up, lots of buzz, and all this on a content optimisation plan that was dreamed up and executed in a couple of days. This stuff rocks!"

Say Hello to Paul, Our Very Affable New Head of Accounts

As our original ad for the role stated, Paul’s job is to be more Mad Men than IM, Twitter, Foursquare and the rest. His job is to talk to all of our clients – preferably at a distance of three paces, and to get the Martinis in whenever they’re needed. Oh, and to always have a glowing report to hand.

Why do 95.769% of Social Media Projects Fail? PLANNING!

In C&M’s experience, failure to deliver value on Social Media projects is 95.769% down to the lack of a plan. Why? Because 95.6579% of the time Social Media is seen as free
