…and to top it off we’ll be driving an old banger across Europe in late September!

Yes, team C&M will be competing in Scally Rally 2010 with our good friends (and clients) email marketing software providers Pure360. Our very own Roger Warner, Michael Wilkins and Ben Martin will be driving (probably quite fast) from Calais (France) to Rimini (Italy) in a yet-to-be-purchased car costing less than £100 (cue hilarious tweets about breakdowns, flat tyres and terrifying near-misses).

Putting the inevitable chaos aside for a moment though, the aim of the event is to raise funds for a whole bunch of great charities and we’d really appreciate all the support we can get, preferably in the form of cold hard cash! So when the opportunity came up to sponsor the biggest ever global Twitter event, Twestival, we jumped at the chance. Just up the road from us in sunny Brighton, the cool and creative New Media haven by the sea,  Brightwest is one of 160 events going down around the world on 12th February.

It’s a chance for all us scattered Sussex Tweeters to get together and meet the people behind the avatars, the men (and ladies) behind the monickers. If the Brighton Blogger and Flickr meets are anything to go by, there’ll be geek banter a-plenty and lots of Social Media talk, as well as the enthusiastic exchange of travel tips, recipe ideas and business cards.

The best thing is that everyone gets to go home with a warm fuzzy feeling – and not just the beer-induced kind – because it’s all for charity.  Raising money for charity: water is what Twestival is all about, and we are delighted to be contributing to such a worthy cause.
