Rowan Stanfield, Head of Strategy & Creative
Online PR Supremo
Since graduating from Roehampton University in 1998, Rowan has spent most of her career in the books industry – initially bookselling at Waterstone’s, then as a publicist for several publishing companies.
Within months of landing her first publishing job at Frances Lincoln back in 2000, a cocky young Rowan initiated and project-managed the creation of a previously non-existent company website, dragging the old-fashioned firm kicking and screaming into the digital age. She’s been shaking things up in a similarly forward-thinking fashion ever since, tackling various PR and Marketing roles at Orion, John Wiley and GMC.
A self-confessed ‘Girl Geek’, Rowan has been dabbling in Social Media since before most of her friends had even heard of MySpace or Facebook, and officially made the leap into Online PR in early 2009.
As C&M’s Head of Stragtegy and Creative, with responsibility for planning, executing and managing C&M’s core Online PR campaigns, Rowan works directly alongside C&M founder Roger Warner across all of C&M’s Online PR client accounts.
In her spare time, Rowan is a keen photographer, blogger and live music enthusiast.

The Google Round-up Rodeo
Every morning, my first thought on waking is, invariably, ‘What have Google been doing while I was asleep?’ I rub my bleary eyes, stretch, and let out a moan so wretched and foul that nuns across the world shudder as one, cross themselves and invoke the Holy Father. Why do I get so upset? Because no one has compiled a short blog post rounding up minor changes that Google have made to their search engine.
