About Our Online PR Agency…
We’re a London- and Sussex-based Online PR Agency specialising in Social Media and Social SEO. We work with Hackett, IBM, Continental, Rightmove, Squiz and other progressive brands, helping them to do great ‘Social’ content marketing for smart customer acquisition…
We use a variety of groovy web marketing techniques to help you win new friends and influence people. We’re really a bit of a mashup. We’re lots of good things rolled up into a hip new bundle that we like to call Online PR. What we really do is help you figure out your web marketing goals and deliver content-based solutions to help you realise them.
Kind of like a smart new PR agency for the interweb era
Having kicked around the marketing world for a while, we realise that right now good content and a good Online PR strategy are your best allies when it comes to differentiating your wares and convincing customers and search engines that you’re really the one.
Think about it. You can’t game Google with meta tags any more. And Social Media isn’t a display advertising activity.
We’ve moved on. Social algorithms are what really matter: you need trust and reputation. To have good Page Rank and great ‘followings’ is to have good web karma on your side – a Wembley Stadium of devotees that are dedicated to righteous linking unto you.
The only way to pack them in and convert them to your cause is to do and say the right thing and encourage them to talk about you.
Not via bland corporate or product speak, brochureware and such – nobody gets excited about that stuff any more, even if they’re (un)lucky enough to find it – but with content that’s designed to sing on the right kind of platforms, using the right words and pictures.
Ergo, your content is your ego. And Online PR is the GO!
Backstory
Content & Motion was founded in 2008 by Roger Warner – web marketing junkie and ex-director of PR at IBM Europe.
The company works on something like the partnership model of all great consultancies, meaning that the people are obsessive, brains are large, and attention spans are notoriously focused.
Fortunately this is good news for our clients, who tend to benefit from consolidated bouts of outrageously good service and smart thinking and execution.
Our Online PR Agency Exists Because…
- Google is hard to game. Good SEO is now a direct product of Online PR, good content creation and optimisation, and all that this entails.
- This twist of algorithmic fortune is a good thing because it means the interweb is set to become a far richer, more rewarding place for users.
- This means that, in order to compete for the attention of consumers and search engines, companies now need to become micro publishers of great content.
- Build it and they will come was never a good mantra for the web. As well as becoming great micro publishers, companies need to get smarter at marketing their content through new Online PR techniques and Social Media channels.
- Traditional digital agencies tend to help companies build things. SEO and Search Marketing firms help companies to buy traffic from external sources and tweak their code to match yesterday’s algorithms. Smart agencies help companies connect with their buyer/influencer communities using Online PR, Content Optimisation and new Social Media platforms.
- Content & Motion is a mashup of many of the best bits out there. We do Content Optimization and Online PR. We’re a contract publisher, an SEO agency, a social media agency and an Online PR firm all rolled into one.
- We help you figure out your web marketing goals and deliver content-based, Online PR-focused solutions to help you realise them.

If Trad Digital Agencies Did Engagement/PR/Social (Who Moved My Cheese/Fees?)
Dear Mr/Ms Brand Manager, if the agency who builds your web properties is also responsible for engagement / PR / etc, then would they be building things differently? We think so…
The Google Round-up Rodeo
Every morning, my first thought on waking is, invariably, ‘What have Google been doing while I was asleep?’ I rub my bleary eyes, stretch, and let out a moan so wretched and foul that nuns across the world shudder as one, cross themselves and invoke the Holy Father. Why do I get so upset? Because no one has compiled a short blog post rounding up minor changes that Google have made to their search engine.
